Social media image sizes (2026)

Every dimension on this page was checked against the linked platform documentation on the date shown above — none of it is quoted from memory. The notes below name the matching one-click canvas preset in the editor where one exists, and tell you when to enter custom dimensions instead.
What size are X (Twitter) images?
X displays a single organic photo in full when its ratio is between 2:1 and 3:4. For a repeatable landscape canvas, 16:9 at 1920×1080 is an officially supported X Ads size and matches the editor preset.
| Use | Ratio | Recommended pixels | File limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Landscape canvas | 16:9 | 1920×1080 | 5 MB |
| Standalone image ad | 1.91:1 | 1200×628 | 5 MB |
Sources: X Help's organic photo requirements and X's official creative specifications. In the editor: use the X / Twitter preset for 16:9, choose Custom and enter 1200×628 for the standalone image ad, or use X Portrait (4:5) for a taller image that takes more vertical feed space.
What size are LinkedIn post images?
LinkedIn's own help pages specify 1200×627 (1.91:1) for shared-post images; anything narrower than 200 px wide is demoted to a thumbnail.
| Use | Ratio | Recommended pixels | File limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared post / link image | 1.91:1 | 1200×627 (min 200 px wide) | 5 MB, JPG or PNG |

What size are Product Hunt gallery images?
Product Hunt recommends 1270×760 gallery images (1.67:1) and requires at least two images before the gallery becomes visible.
| Use | Ratio | Recommended pixels | File limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gallery image | 1.67:1 | 1270×760, minimum two images | — |
| Thumbnail | 1:1 | 240×240 | GIF under 3 MB |
Source: Product Hunt Help — how to post a product. In the editor: the Product Hunt preset, whose ratio is exactly 635/380 — the same 1.67:1.
What size should an Open Graph image be?
The Open Graph protocol itself sets no dimensions; the de facto standard comes from Facebook, which recommends at least 1200×630 at ~1.91:1, and it is what most link previews (Slack, Discord, iMessage, LinkedIn) render well.
| Use | Ratio | Recommended pixels | File limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| og:image / link preview | 1.91:1 | 1200×630 (min 600×315; absolute min 200×200) | 8 MB |
Source: Meta's sharing documentation (the protocol spec deliberately leaves sizing open). In the editor: the Open Graph preset, ratio exactly 1200/630.
What size are Stories and Reels?
Stories and Reels use the full-screen 9:16 ratio. A 1080×1920 canvas is its 1080-pixel-wide equivalent. For Stories ads, Meta recommends leaving roughly 14% at the top and 20% at the bottom free of key content so interface elements do not cover it.
| Use | Ratio | Recommended pixels | File limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Story / Reel frame | 9:16 | 1080×1920 | — |
Sources: Instagram Help's Stories ratio and Meta's Stories safe-zone guidance. In the editor: the Story / Reel preset (9:16).
For anything not listed here, the Custom preset takes exact pixel dimensions, and Auto / Original keeps your screenshot's own ratio.
