The person behind ScreenPolish

ScreenPolish is built by Gauthier Huguenin, an independent maker. I built it because I kept pasting screenshots of client dashboards into online tools — and realised I had no idea where those images went. So I built an editor where they go nowhere: everything happens in your browser.

Why local-only, really

Most screenshot tools upload your image to a server to process it. That is an architecture choice, and it quietly turns every screenshot — customer names, internal dashboards, unreleased work — into data someone else holds. ScreenPolish makes the opposite choice: the image is decoded, edited and exported by your own browser, on your own device. There is no upload endpoint to trust, because there is no upload.

This is not a marketing preference, it is a constraint the product is built around: no gallery, no history, no server-side rendering of your images, nothing to leak and nothing to subpoena.

How the business works

ScreenPolish is honest freemium. You get 5 watermark-free exports a month for free, and Pro — $4 a month or $34 a year — removes the cap and adds 4x resolution for people who need more. That subscription is the entire business: no ads, no advertising or cross-site trackers, and no selling of data, which would be difficult anyway since your images never reach us. If analytics is enabled it is cookieless page counting, as the cookie notice spells out.
